(de-news.net) – The FDP has proposed a departure package for the German economy. The nominal gross domestic product in Germany was at 4.46 trillion Euros in 2023. This makes the Federal Republic the third largest economy after the USA and China. However, during a visit to the United Kingdom this week, FDP Chairman and Federal Finance Minister Lindner cautiously commented that while the German economy was healthy and had substance, top form is currently not being achieved. For this reason, reforms such as reducing bureaucracy and easing the burden on German companies, as well as more flexibility on the labor market, are needed.

As the Parliamentary Manager of the Liberal Parliamentary Group, Vogel, explained, the current situation primarily requires tax relief and, at the same time, “freedom” for companies based in the country. He also mentioned the need for a solution to the skills shortage. More speed is required to reduce bureaucracy, he said. The lives of self-employed people who set up companies should be rendered easier through various measures, Vogel, who is also Vice-Chairman of the FDP, concluded.

Crafts President Dittrich also calls for a reduction in bureaucracy and more entrepreneurial freedom. This takes courage, he emphasized in an interview. The German Chamber of Commerce and Industry had previously called for Germany to be strengthened as a business location and called for a package of measures that, according to Managing Director Wansleben, had to be “courageous.” According to ifo Institute President Fuest, the Federal Government needs a convincing growth strategy creating advantageous conditions for investments. It now depends on the “captain” of “stormy seas,” Chancellor Scholz, Fuest concluded metaphorically.
