(de-news.net) – In the first half of 2025, Germany experienced a notable increase in entrepreneurial activity, notwithstanding prevailing economic challenges. Compared to the corresponding period in 2024, the number of newly established enterprises with substantial economic relevance rose by 9.4 percent to over 67,600, according to the Federal Statistical Office. Concurrently, closures of similarly significant businesses increased by 6.6 percent, totaling approximately 51,800. Commercial registrations—including new formations, acquisitions, restructurings, and relocations—grew by 3.4 percent to around 386,600, while total deregistrations, encompassing closures and other structural changes, rose by 0.8 percent to roughly 304,700. These developments underscore a marked expansion in self-employment despite adverse economic conditions.
