(GermanPolicy.com) – The three governing parties, together with the CDU and CSU, have proposed Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier for re-election, in a letter to the President of the Bundestag, Bärbel Bad (SPD). The letter is signed by seven party leaders and those responsible for the parliamentary groups. The election of the Federal President is scheduled for February 13. With the support of the SPD, Greens, FDP, CDU and CSU, it is deemed certain that Steinmeier will be able to start a new term of office.
